This Easy 7 layer dip recipe is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser packed with bold Tex-Mex flavor. Creamy, colorful, and perfect for parties, potlucks, and game nights, it comes together fast and always disappears first.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (patted dry)
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Spread refried beans evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 glass dish.
  2. Mix sour cream with taco seasoning until smooth, then spread over the beans.
  3. Spoon salsa evenly over the creamy layer.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the salsa.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and green onions on top.
  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow layers to set.
  7. Serve with sturdy tortilla chips and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, use a clear glass dish to show off the layers. Pat tomatoes dry before layering to reduce moisture. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Add fresh toppings just before serving if making ahead.
