Description
These Easy Cauldron Cookies are the perfect spooky Halloween treats for kids. With a chocolatey cookie cup base, green bubbling buttercream, and fun decorations, they’re festive, fun, and easy to make for parties or family nights.
Ingredients
- Cookies: 1 (15.25 oz) box Devil’s Food cake mix, 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil, black food coloring (optional)
- Frosting: 1 cup unsalted butter (softened), 3 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp salt, 1–3 tbsp milk, green food coloring
- Decorations: Round green sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease three 12-count mini muffin pans.
- Mix cake mix, eggs, oil, and black food coloring until smooth. Scoop 1/2 tbsp dough into each muffin cup, flatten slightly, and bake 8–10 minutes.
- Press an indentation into each warm cookie with the back of a spoon to form cauldrons. Let cool completely.
- For frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Mix in milk until pipeable, then add green food coloring.
- Pipe frosting into cookie cups. Decorate with sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and pretzel “stir sticks.”
- Serve on a Halloween platter and enjoy!
Notes
Chill cookie dough before scooping to prevent sticky hands. Bake cookie cups ahead and frost before serving for freshness. Add extra sprinkles, gummy worms, or edible glitter for a magical bubbling cauldron effect.
