Description
These adorable heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day! They combine the classic chocolate chip cookie flavor with a fun heart shape, making them perfect for gifting or sharing with family and friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips (mix of regular and mini is great!)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Scoop the dough using a cookie scoop (about 2 tablespoons per cookie) and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2-3 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are slightly soft.
- While the cookies are still warm, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to gently cut them into heart shapes.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving or decorating.
Notes
For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake them so the centers stay soft. You can also press extra chocolate chips into the tops before baking for an extra chocolatey treat!
